C L I P A R T F O R K I D S
======================================================================
THANK YOU FOR BUYING THIS CD-ROM.
This CD contains over 13,000 files of mostly color cliparts in TIF
and PCX formats. These formats are readable by both MS-DOS and
Macintosh compatible computers.
All the viewers on this CD are custom-written for user-friendliness
and easy installation.
No installation is needed if you use our Windows KIDVIEW clipart
viewer. It also does not install any icon or program group in your
Windows desktop either. Most people like this low profile feature.
KIDVIEW viewer lets you see a clipart (in TIF, GIF, BMP, PCX, but
NOT WPG) and copy into Windows' clipart or copy to a default or
user-defined directly in your hard disk.
A copy of GRAPHICS WORKSHOP FOR WINDOWS is stored under GWSWIN
sub-directory. You may install it into your hard drive if you
want a program group and icon. GWSWIN is great for converting
one graphic formats to another. GWSWIIN is shareware and requires
registration for extended uses after trial period.
We assume Windows is in your DOS path and that you will use our
Windows-based clipart viewer.
If you want to by-pass the INSTALLATION MENU. Simply do the
following:
FOR WINDOWS 3.1X USERS:
1. If you are outside WINDOWS, simply type:
D:\KID <ENTER>
-- where "D" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
2. If you are inside WINDOWS, click on FILE, then RUN, then type:
D:\KIDVIEW then click "OK"
-- where "D" is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
3. If you have logged in the CD-ROM drive and have NOT logged in
WINDOWS, simply type:
KID <ENTER>
FOR WINDOWS'95 USERS:
No installation is need. The CD-ROM will automatically launch
the installation menu for you.
INSTALLATION PROBLEMS
If your system reports that some DLL files are missing, copy down
the name and check the UTILITIY\DLL directory for the missing files;
then copy whatever missing DLL file to your WINDOWS directory.
=============================
THREE TYPES OF CLIPARTS
=============================
The default file format is PCX file, stored in the main directory.
TIF files are stored under the TIF subdirectory. B_AND_W are
clipart in black and white in both PCX and TIF format.
==================
FILE CONVERSIONS
==================
If you want to convert the color clipart to different format or
just grayscale it, you can use GRAPHIC WORKSHOP to do the conversion.
If you want to resize the clipart, you need graphics packages like
PAINTSHOP PRO, PHOTOSHOP, COREL PAINT and the likes to do it.
Some of the cliparts in this colllection are big enough to be used
as wall paper or screen saver.
=============================
THUMBNAIL CATALOGS
=============================
We have created thumbnail files for each directory for GRAPHICS
WORKSHOP FOR WINDOWS. This will help you to see a group of
clipart at a time.
After you run GWSWIN, click on FILE,
then SELECT DIRECTORY,
click on any clipart directory,
then, OK to choose the directory.
You will see the thumbnail images of the clipart files.
Click on any thumbnail will show you a full size image of the clipart.
If you want to install GRAPHICS WORKSHOP into your hard disk,
simply run the GWSWIN11.EXE file inside the GWSWIN sub-directory.
